    have commenced at the coronary sinus in this case. The orifice of the coronary sinus was contracted; it measured 6 by 5 millimetres. It is probable, but the statement lacks experimental proof, that the contraction of the left auricle may commence in the musculature surrounding the terminations of the pulmonary veins.
