Portraits of the Aztecs in eight roundels arranged in three registers: top register, left and right, the Aztecs in western dress; centre, the Aztecs in supposedly native dress with Aztec buildings in the background; middle register, centre, Bartola and Maximo, both in western dress; bottom register, left and right, Maximo and Bartola in western dress, in conversation; centre, Maximo and Bartola with their manager seated between them. Between the roundels, Aztec motifs
