About this work

Description

Theatre director and author Neil Bartlett in conversation with writer Kate Pullinger about his commission WOULD YOU MIND? which featured in the Wellcome Collection 'The Institute of Sexology' exhibition. The project interrogates the idea of the sex survey by asking the participant to take on the role of both sexologist and respondent. Every week, visitors were invited to respond to a series of challenging and sometimes unexpected questions about sex. Their anonymous contributions – and the confessions, anxieties and appeals they disclose – were displayed in the exhibition itself. Over the 25 weeks of its life, the work evolved to reveal a frank picture of the exhibition’s true subject: the respondant themselves. Questions and answers with the audience are at the end.
