About this work

Description

Metodo curativo de las viruellas [sic] del año de 1830. Y asegundo para este ano de 1840. Y es como sigue. [?Amozoc de Mota, Puebla, Mexico] Nine simple remedies and a poultice for the 4 stages of early symptoms, eruption, suppuration and drying of the pustules, with notes on general treatment, and brief descriptions of the stages of smallpox. The text does not follow any known printed source, of which the most characteristic is M. Muñoz, Método sencillo, claro y facil de asistir a los niños en la actual epidemia de viruelas naturales, Mexico, T. Uribe y Alcalde, 1830, twice reprinted in San Luis Potosí in the same year. In the same hand and from the same collection of remedies as WMS/Amer.48, 54 and 55 with which it was originally bound; and possibly also associated with one leaf of WMS/Amer.15. Perhaps from the remedy book of an hacienda.
