Notes
"Domestic objects and a lump of asphalt taken from an area affected by Hurricane Sandy are here turned into a simple desalination device. Water in the outer bowl evaporates, hits the clingfilm and condenses, causing distilled water to run into the central bowl. The improvised nature of this device raises questions about what we might have to do to survive."--From Being Human exhibition caption.
Assemblage artwork consisting of a glass bowl with container inside filled with water, covered with cling film, with one piece of asphalt on top. The work includes a further 5 pieces of asphalt.
