Black and white reproduction of a botanical specimen of "Cinchona Peruviana" with handwritten annotations, sent from José Celestino Mútis (1732-1808) to Carl Linnaeus (1707–1778), dated September 1764. The specimen was possibly reproduced as part of the facsimiles exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930 hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The facsimile is listed as exhibit no. 876[B] in the souvenir catalogue. The original specimen is held by The Linnean Society of London. Related images: M0001368
