Lettering
Deliberatio omnium difficillima.
The lettering is a phrase in Cicero, De officiiis I.117: "In primis autem constituendum est, quos nos et quales esse velimus et in quo genere vitae, quae deliberatio est omnium difficillima" (In the first place we have to decide who and what sort of people we wish to be, in in what kind of life, which is the most difficult deliberation of all)
