Manuscript letters. Discusses social influences on the effects of heredity; the work English Men of Science; observations on psychometrics; requests information on Sir George Airy, zoologist Owen and Sir George Wheatstone; discusses an article on 'Measurement of character'; and observations about civil service examinations. Letter dated 13 December 1911 is from C de Candolle to Karl Pearson stating that he has just received the letters of Francis Galton, which he had lent to him, and copies of his father's letters. He gives permission to publish extracts.
