About this work

Description

News At Ten, 18 Feb 1994, programme including item in second part on the forthcoming Parliamentary vote on lowering the age of consent for homosexuals from 21 to 16 with a brief interview contribution from Ismond Rosen. Broadcast by ITN 18 Feb 1994.

Content: The news item on the age of consent vote is at approx. 24 minutes and 2 seconds into the programme. The feature includes shots of Ismond working at his word processor at home and being interviewed in his study (not the whole interview has been used). Rosen states his belief that at age 16 boys are too young to have formed their sexual preferences and are still vulnerable to exploitation of their sexual identity. He believes that 18 is a better age than 16. This item is approximately 3 minutes and 30 seconds.

The remainder of the video has a mixed content of programmes recorded off the television which do not relate to Rosen (including extracts of Terre d'Avellaneda' and Argentine film, Dandelion Dead, ITN News at Ten, a Western film).
