    THE NATIONAL TEMPERANCE CONGRESSES. Traces the progress of the Movement through the proceedings at the National Temperance Congresses periodically called by the League. Quotations from papers and speeches indicate m a striking manner the gradual change in opinion from Congress to Congress. CHAPTER XI. THE INTERNATIONAL AND COLONIAL CONGRESSES, Follows the subject of the previous chapter by describing the International and Colonial Conferences initiated by the League. It incidentally shows the widespread influence of the League, and how the Movement had permeated the whole world 256-280 CHAPTER XII. EFFORTS TO REACH THOSE WHO MAKE AND ADMINISTER THE LAW. Dissipates a generally accepted idea that the League has done little to affect the legislative side of the Temperance Question, by describing its efforts to reach those who make and administer the Law : these efforts including meetings with (and resolutions to) M.P.’s, Mayors, and Administrative Bodies 281-302 CHAPTER XIII. THE EDUCATION OF THE CHILD AND THE TEACHER. Is devoted to the work of the League in connection with Education and describes its efforts to influence children and young people. These include its pioneer work in the Schools and the Royal Hospital Schools’ Band of Hope ; its Meetings with T eachers and Students of all grades and the Annual Breakfast Conferences with the National Union of Teachers. ... 303-326 CHAPTER XIV.
