Description
Photomacrograph of a snowflake. Snowflakes are ice crystals which begin to form when a droplet of water freezes around a dust particle in the sky. As this falls through the atmosphere, more water vapor freezes onto the crystal ultimately forming a six-sided, symmetrical structure. Snowflakes are often used as symbols to represent winter, cold conditions and the Christmas season. It was also used as a logo for the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Width of image is 2 cm.
