A Paris chez Melchior Tavernier Graveur et Imprimeur du Roy pour les Tailles Doulces demeurant en lisle du Pallais sur le Quay qui regard la Megiserie/ L'Ordre du Marcher de M<essieu>rs les Chevalliers lors quilz furent creez a Fontaine-bleau le 14 May 1633. avec privilege du Roy. Bosse fecit This print is one in a series showing various rituals of the Order of the Holy Spirit, which Louis XIII created to demonstrate his piety and to provide a public display of pomp and penetance. Later prints show the procession reaching court, where the ladies look on. The prints are a valuable source of costume and courtly behaviour

Abraham Bosse wrote a treatise on printing techiques in 1642, Traicté des manières de graver en taille-douce sur l'airin, Paris 1645) where he gave a detailed account of how a roller press was made and discussed the use of the échoppe. He became an honorary royal academician in 1651
