About this work

Description

The first page bears the name Saml. Foley, 1686, and a table of symbols and abbreviations (fo. 19).

The pages are headed in Latin with the names of the diseases or the parts of the body for which the preparations are to be applied. The book was evidently headed throughout before any of the subject-matter was written, as many of the headed pages have not been written upon, and others are crowded owing to the allotted space being insufficient. To many of the pages latter additions have been made as is shown by the varying density of the ink.

The pages are numbered 1-307, corresponding to folios 22-175. The Dispensatory proper occupies fo. 22-166 (pp. 1-290).
