Lettering note

Paper label glued to left side of box, very faded, lists subjects of photographs and Thomson's negative numbers. Paper label on lid is address label to send the box from the Wellcome company office in Snow Hill, London, to the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum, Wigmore Street, in connection with the purchase of the photographs from John Thomson's executors: it bears typed legend "Chinese negatives packed in three cases". Later Wellcome label inscribed "C"
