Foster, Jane (& others)

Collection of cookery receipts, followed by a few medical receipts: with additions by several hands. Inside the lower cover: 'Jane Foster. Her Book. 1739'. Above this 'Francis Watkins Esqre. Paramatta New South Wales' probably written c. 1825. Jane Foster has also written her name inside the upper cover. The latest date is 1794 on the recto of the 10th leaf from the end.

1 volume 1 l. + 51 ff. + 71 ll. 4to. 24 × 181/2 cm. Original half-vellum binding. Some leaves have been cut out from different parts of the volume. Many leaves are damaged by damp at the margins and corners.
