Apparently a national event, as the first "Congrès international de laryngorhinologie" occurred in Milan in 1880, the second in Vienna 21-25 April 1908, and the third in Berlin in 1911. The photograph includes Adam Politzer in the centre of the row of men seated on chairs. The man on his left is Ottokar Freiherr von Chiari
