Our task is finished; we have striven to represent the science of Comparative Embryology, not as a well-ordered and complete system of philosophy, but rather as a gold-mine from which rich rewards have already been reaped, but of which only a small part has as yet been developed, and which promises abundance of gratifjdng surprises and rewarding returns to the worker of the future.
