    The indoor games consist of cards, bagatelle, drafts, and dominoes, with dancing parties every other week, and theatricals at Christmas. Out of doors there is cricket, and last summer athletic sports were tried one day with success. Be¬ sides which the Patients, both male and female, continue, weather permitting, to take walks into the surrounding country, and every patient that is lit to be taken is allowed to go. The Committee have under consideration plans for making the airing courts for Nos. 5 and 6 wards on either side more cheerful, either by lowering the walls or planting shrubs. The Lending Library has been again increased, it is entirely under the care of the Chaplain, who uses every exertion to distribute the books amongst the patients; a great addition has also been made to the number of the periodicals. The attendance at Chapel has decreased, and this chiefly on the male side. The Chaplain says he can only account for this fact by the discharge or death of those who were regular attendants, and their places being filled up by others who are either not capable of attending, or who are not so religi¬ ously disposed.
