Sexual apparatus of the Female land Tortoise. The different points worthy of notice in this prepara- tion are, the large membranous ovaries, to which are attached, by means of pedicles, bright yellow ova co- vered by a very vascular membrane, which remains as a calyx after the expulsion of the ova, and then withers away.
