About this work

Description

Copy of the 'Abrégé d'anatomie accommodé aux arts de peinture et de sculpture', Paris. Chez J. B. Crepy. 1760: executed by Harriette Pilton. A copy of the illustrations engraved by Tortebat after the originals of Calcar and Vesalius. The 'Abrégé' is here followed by an emblazoned coat of arms of the Pilton Family and three leaves of an unfinished family history in red and black, probably written by a junior member of the family: the last two pages are smudged.
