Lepromatous leprosy: type 2 ENL reaction

Lepromatous leprosy (LL): type 2 (erythema nodosum leprosum, ENL) leprosy reaction This is a high power view of a peripheral nerve from a case of type 2 leprosy reaction. It shows fragmented, acid-fast bacilli (AFB) in the centre of the field. Note also the diffuse, acid-fast debris, which indicates old LL. H&E stain.
