    I have daily attended for the purpose of pastoral visita¬ tion, and am much encouraged by the kind reception I generally meet with. As Librarian I have issued since January last 1,050 Books, an increase on last year's number. In order to supply fresh literature to cope with this increasing interest, I have been able with the gifts of kind Friends and without entirely spending your grant of £5, to add about 70 Books, which brings up our total number to about 1,300. The Bishop of Worcester intends holding a Confirmation Service at the Parish Church, Powick, in March next, when I hope to present for the sacred rite 17 Members of our Staff. Out of the 81 Patients who have died during the year, 29 have been buried in our Cemetery, all with the exception of one, according to the rites of the Church of England. Last year the numbers were 100 deaths and 50 burials. Two deaths have occurred in the ranks of our Staff, one in June and the other in December—Annie Badham, after three years’ service, and Robert Coombs, after 25 years, dying almost at their posts. They were buried in Powick Church¬ yard amid tokens of grief and sorrow. Seventy Prayer Books, 27 Bibles, and 105 Hymn Books have been added to complete the stock in the different Wards. Every Saturday for nearly four months we have played Cricket Matches with neighbouring teams on our own ground. As will be seen by the total of 1,077 runs scored by us against 912 of our opponents, the matches by their closeness aroused interest and enthusiasm. In all the 15 matches we lost three only.
