Transplant Coordinator Wendy Herries and Consultant Hepatologist Professor Peter Hayes explain how the Scotish Liver Transplant Unit prioritises transplant patients, and the patient assessment process. Professor of Transplant Surgery Stephen Wigmore discusses a patient suffering from alcoholic liver disease with Hepatic Encephalopathy. Transplant Psychiatrist Dr Stephen Potts interviews this patient to ascertain her eligibility for the liver transplant list. The programme visits a patient on the transplant list with lung failure due to Cystic Fibrosis. Consultant in Respiratory Medicine Dr Alistair Innes discusses the risks of infection to the patient.
