Lettering

The dog groomer's signboard says (misspellings etc. uncorrected) "Pière Versailles coupe les chiens & les châts querit les maladies de chiens châts & peraquets tond les chiens & sa femme, va en ville". At the foot of the sign are vignettes showing a dog, a parrot and a cat. Below is a box for customer's contact details, labelled "On a qu'a mettre son addresse dans cette boitte". The shoe shiner's sign says "Cirage à l'angloise & à la françoise". A more official sign nearby says "Bains".
