Under all thefe advantages, it is earneflly to be wifhed, that Inoculation by the Cow-pock might become immediately general; not mere¬ ly among the affluent, but that they may unite in promoting the moft adlive and enlarged plans for extending it among thofe who are unable to pay for medical attendance. LETTSOM. * There are, indeed, feveral inftitutions where the Poor may receive the Cow-pock gratuitoufly, as at Ibme of the Difpenfarics, and particularly at the Vaccine Inftitution, Golden-fquare^ but the number of deaths by the Small¬ pox is a proof how inadequate they are to the total ex¬ tinction of this fatal difeafe. We are now enabled to add, that a Society upon the moft extenhve balls has been eftabliflied, under Royal Patronage, delignated, the royal jennerian society FOR the extermination OF THE SMALL-POX J wllich feems calculated to realize the title it has adopted, of exter¬ minating the moft malignant difeafe that ever vifited fulfering humanity.
