Collection of 14 manuscripts containing medical, cookery and other receipts; by various 17th and 18th cent. hands: mainly in English, but with some entries in Latin and French. Some of the MSS. are incomplete as noted below.

    Ownership note

    Pasted inside the upper cover is the name James Shrowll, apparently part of a printed bill-head, and perhaps the name of the original owner of this collection. The signature of 'J. Hodgkin Dec. 9th, 1914' is inscribed in pencil above this.
