    Crimes, their Puniflhment, are ftill upon Record in our Hiftories : Some Urine-Cafte'rs, fome AJlologers, Fortune-tellers , Seventh Sons, un¬ born DoEtors, fome for pretending to heal by Charms , and the like Fooleries 9 others for Difperfing their Bills, and fet- ting them up in the Corners of the Streets, for the Cure of diverfe Difeafes , and others for putting out Advertifements, that fuchand fuch Medicines were to he Sold at the Pla¬ ces therein named ♦, hut, continues he, thefe things are now a£ted in the Face of the Sun, and in open Defiance of the Colledge Statutes, and the Laws of the Land, to the great Scandal of the Art of Phyjick, and the great Prejudice, yea, Diftrudtion of Hundreds, if not Thoufands of his Majefty’s good Subjects. Thefe Banditti being the worft of Robbers, for either through Ignorance or Avarice they give no Quarter, but fire at you with a fort of Powder that makes no Noife but very terrible Execution. There's not a Trade, fays he, fo mean and Sordid, but hath the Dottor tack'd to it. Phyfick is become the Sink, to receive the Filth, and Off-fcouring of all o- ther Imployments.
