The work in connection with the sampling of the milk is administered by the West Riding County Council’s Inspector and myself, the County Council bearing the cost of sampling and also providing any legal assistance necessary. 60 samples were submitted for analysis during the year, all of which were formal samples. 58 samples were reported as genuine, whilst 2 samples were adversely reported upon by the Public Analyst. In both instances the vendor was cautioned. BACTERIOLOGICAL EXAMINATION OF MILK. During the year 93 samples of milk were taken in the Borough by officers of this Department for examination at the County Labo- ratory, Wakefield. These were submitted for examination by the Phosphatase and Methylene Blue Tests, with the following results:— Satisfactory. Unsatisfactory. Total. A. HEAT TREATED MILKS.
