Series following the varying fortunes of patients at Prof. Robert Winston's fertility clinic at the Hammersmith Hospital, London. Examines the social problems of infertile patients, the problems facing patients whose treatment is unsuccessful and some ethical problems which arise, such as the cases of an HIV+ woman and of a woman with limited life expectancy, both of whom seek treatment.
