This group becomes increasingly more important with the ageing of the general population. Deaths in this age group are predominantly Male. Coronary disease of the heart and Malignancy are the main causes. Are these deaths at this early age due to adverse factors ? - or are the deaths those that previously occurred at an earlier age among the weaker and more unfortunate and those affected by illness and which a better environment and medical science hare given a longer life ? Statistics appear to indicate that smoking contributes to deaths from lung cancer in this group, and excess fats in diet,and undue worry, to coronary disease.
