It is will be substantially reduced during 1943. these Extensions has hoped that this figure NURSES' HOME BUILDING FUND APPEAL. The appeal was continued during £1,509 11s. 7d. was received. The amount 1942, the is made up as sum of follows: Donations C558 14 6 Contributory Scheme Appeal 41 5 9 Carnival Effort ... 909 11 4 Cl,509 11 7 The Board of Management desire to express their warmest thanks to those who have so kindly responded to this appeal, and also to the 1942 Carnival Committee for organising the Bank Holiday Week Carnival and raising the splendid sum of £909 11s. 4d. It is hoped that during 1943 a further large sum will be raised. MATERNITY WARD EXTENSION. The Extension to the Maternity Ward was brought into commission on 1st January, 1942, the number of Patients during the year was 251 compared with 168 in 1941 and 114 in 1940. CHURCH AND CHAPEL COLLECTIONS. The total received from this source was 175 18s. 9d. compared with £14-2 12s. 3d. in respect of 1941. The Board is pleased to report this splendid increase and are deeply grateful for the continued support received from the Churches and Chapels in this area. HARVEST FESTIVAL THANKSGIVING. A very large quantity of fruit and vegetables was received this year. The Board desires to record their sincere thanks to all Churches and Chapels who continue to send gifts.
