About this work

Description

Horoscopion. De nativitatibus. Translated into German. Ff. 64-71 contain 10 engraved plates of symbolic cosmological figures etc. (unidentified). There are also a few pen-drawn horoscopic figures. This MS. appears to be a German translation of the first volume of Schöner's 'Opera', Nuremberg, 1551, in which ff. 72-end contain the treatise on nativities which make up ff. 55-218 of the printed work. This is shown in our MS., where a previous owner has written on fol. 72 'Schonero f. 55', and has added the foliations of the printed book from there to the end of the MS. text. On fol. 318v, the scribe has written 'Vollendet 15 Monnatstag Novembris Anno 1603'.
