Aristolochia clematitis (Birthwort, Heartwort)

Plant with climbing stems usually upright. Has clusters of foul-smelling, yellow flowers and deeply veined, heart-shaped leaves. Has been used in folk remedies as an aid to childbirth but contains aristolochic acid which is associated with kidney damage.
