About this work
Description
In two programmes Dr. V.S. Ramachandran (Univ. of California, San Diego) discusses some unusual neurological conditions with patients who suffer from them. In this programme he is concerned with phantom limb, blind sight, loss of awareness of one side of the body through stroke damage (even though that side is not paralysed), and loss of left-hand visual awareness, or visual neglect. Dr. Ramachandran explains what happens in the brain to create these conditions and works with patients to demonstrate the results of this brain damage.
