This moving documentary follows three men in Nottingham, with long-term mental health problems, who have been sectioned under the Mental Health Act. They tell their stories and the camera follows them as they attempt to leave the world of psychiatric hospitals. Richard has paranoid schizophrenia and is planning to kill himself on Christmas Day as the Gods have told him he will go to hell. Andrew is a former NHS consultant who suffered a breakdown later in his life and now suffers from bipolar disorder. Anthony has paranoid schizophrenia and needs an injection of anti-psychotic medication once every two weeks or he becomes severely ill. He speaks very articulately about his breakdown. The programme presents a detailed look at the lives of three very different men faced with a similar struggle.
