    Piffurefque grace : an agreeable form given, in a pi&ure, to a clownifb. figure. Repofe, or Quietnefs: applied to a picture when the whole is harmonious ^ when nothing glares either in the light, ftiade, or colouring. To keep down, take down, or bring down: fignify throwing a degree of fhade upon a glaring light. A middle tint: a medium between a ftrong light, and ftrong fiiade: the phrafe is not at all exprefiive of co¬ lour.
