Further analysis of the effects of nicotine The depolarization produced by nicotine was always much more transient than that with acetylcholine or tetramethylammonium, compared with the duration of reduction of spike height produced by it. In the experiment illustrated in Fig. 9 a, the ganglion negativity had disappeared 3 min after the injection, although the spike did not reappear for 10 min, nor return to normal
