Description
Fox appears triumphant as he looks towards the India Office carrying a flag on which 'the man of the people' has been erased and 'king of kings' has been substituted. The elephant has the pained face of Lord North. Edmund Burke blows a horn from which hangs a banner showing a map of India (the bay of Bengal). On Fox's East India bill of December 1783 which was drafted by Burke. This print dealt an effective blow at the bill and multiple copies were produced making it Sayer's' most famous work
