    sideration the very important service which these colleges were doing to the country. He did not think so much educational work could possibly be done at less expense, and if the Government did not support such colleges it would have to meet a greater outlay in the future. The resolution was carried. Mr. G. F. ScHACHT proposed the re-election of the following members of Council—Messrs. J. W. Arrow- smith, Albert Fry, Lewis Fry, M.P., A. C. Pass, the Eight Eev. the Lord Bishop of Hereford, and Mr. Harry E. Thomas, and referred in warmly eulogistic terms to the work in the department of Chemistry, selecting this for mention because it was the one about which his life’s work qualified him to form an opinion. Professor Dobson seconded the motion, and it was agreed to. The Eev. Hekeford B. George moved the re- appointment of Messrs. E. Stock and C. J. Eyland as , Auditors. He trusted at the close of the year the Auditors would have to append their names to a more favourable balance sheet. Professor C. Lloyd Morgan seconded the motion, and it was approved. Mr. Albert Fry moved the election of the Eev. J. W. Henderson, Principal of the Baptist College, as a member of the Council in the place of the Eev. Dr. Culross, resigned. Mr. J. W. Arrowsmith, seconding this, remarked that Mr. Henderson came to Bristol with a good record.
