Trachoma WHO grade: trachomatous trichiasis (TT)

WHO grade: trachomatous trichiasis (TT) This is the upper tarsal conjunctiva of a patient with TT. As well as a few eyelashes rubbing on the cornea and sclera, there is evidence of trimming and/or removal of eyelashes. The cloudy outer ring seen in this patient is known as the arcus senilis, and is normal with age. The irregular black mark seen on the bottom right of the picture is of no clinical significance.
