But it is faid, that this increafing fatality cannot be owing to Inoculation, becaufe, upon exami¬ nation, it appears to have exifted during the former period of years. This is admitted with this addition, that the progrefs of mor¬ tality, during the latter period, has been rather accelerated than interrupted; for Dr. Jurin Hates the proportion dying in 1000 by the Small Pox for the 20 years, from 1667 to 1686, both inclufive, compared with the proportion dying
