The weizhong point is located at the back of the knee joint, in the middle of the popliteal crease. It can be needled to a depth of 5 fen (1 fen [0.1 cun/Chinese proportional inch] = c. 0.3 cm). Moxibustion, however, is prohibited. It is indicated for back pain; aching and limpness; twitching hands and feet; clonic convulsions (chizong) and spasms; wind-damp blockage disease (bi); unremitting fever; aching legs and knees, etc.
