Description
Schistosomiasis due to Schistosoma mansoni: histopathology of the large intestine
This is a high power view of the lower lamina propria of the rectum which shows eosinophilia and a small granuloma. H&E stain.
This appearance is indicative of schistosomiasis even when schistosome eggs cannot be identified in the tissue.
