Cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL): skin lesion

This is a low power view of a section of skin from a CL lesion. The lesion is non-ulcerating but there is marked hyperplasia of the epidermis and a dense dermal inflammation. H&E stain. For a higher power view of the dermal infiltrate see image W0044370. HF indicates a hair follicle.
