This is the univerfal ornament of our paftures; w a Perennial; flowering all the Summer. Its leaflefs Stalk is three Inches high. The Leaves, which grow from the Root, are oblong, fmooth, and of a deep green. . # Its Flowers, in their wildeft and moft Ample ftate, are very pretty by their mixture of red and white; but when the gardener beftows culture on them, few things return it better : we fee them grow double, large, full, quilled, and proliferous; young Flowers furrounding the older.
