Description
Between 1986-1996, a global network of doctors, lawyers and peace campaigners developed the World Court Project (WCP). This initiative sought one or more references from the UN General Assembly or other subsidiary organ to the International Country of Justice for an Advisory Opinion on the legal status of nuclear warfare under international law. The WCP was co-founded by IPPNW, International Lawyers against Nuclear Arms, and the International Peace Bureau. Pat Craig coordinated Medact's contributions to WCP as part of the WCP UK Branch.
Includes correspondence regarding WCP activity and Medact campaigning, WCP circulars and reports, briefing papers, press releases, minutes of the UK Branch of the WCP, position papers, and other papers relating to the WCP.
