The Committee of Visitors of the County and Borough of Nottingham Lunatic Asylum at Sneinton, have to report the following Summary of their proceedings for the year 1862, in accordance with the Act of Parliament under which they are appointed On the 31st December, 1861, there remained 160 male pa- ; tients in this establishment, and six others temporarily accommo- i dated at Lincoln County Asylum; and 144 females. Total 310. Since then there have been admitted 91 patients (including * the aforesaid 6 transferred from Lincoln), namely, 48 men and 43 women. The discharges during the year have been 40 recovered, and [ 4 not recovered. The proportion of those recovered to the number admitted j amounts to 43.9 per cent. The deaths have been 37, being fewer than in either of the two preceding years.
