About this work
Description
Myologiae compendium. De visceribus. Illustrated with 39 numbered engraved folding and other plates, some coloured or partly coloured. Plates 9, 35, 38, 43-47 are wanting. The text has not been identified, but from the script and from internal evidence it seems to be about the middle of the 18th cent. or possibly later, and to have been written by a Dutch or Belgian physician. These plates were originally drawn in 1552, but were first published by Lancisi with notes in 1714 by order of Pope Clement XI.
