About this work

Description

Extrapulmonary Pneumocystis carinii infection This is a low power view of a hilar lymph node in an AIDS patient with extrapulmonary Pneumocystis carinii infection. In this hilar node the circumscribed pink zones are deposits of pneumocystis organisms that have spread from the lungs. This phenomenon usually occurs after treatment for pulmonary pneumocystosis.
