During the year the re-painting of the remainder of the wards, rooms, and passages not done in 1928 was carried out, together with the whole of the outside wood-work. For many years, to those intimately associated with the welfare of the Hospital, it has been a matter of great concern that the buildings now cover the whole of the original site, and should any addition become necessary in the future, more land would have to be obtained. The only property which would be of practical use to the Hospital, is the garden and cottage adjoining and extending eastward towards The Spain. On several occasions efforts have been made to acquire this, without success ; and it was felt that another should be made ; this eventually proved successful, and
